• Pyassa (Romance, Drama, Musical, 1957) (Rated as one of the best 100 movies of all time by Time magazine)

• Chitchor (Drama, Musical, Romance, Comedy, 1976) (Director Basu Chatterjee exploited Amol Palekar's acting talent in a simple yet very beautiful film)

• Half Ticket  (Comedy, Musical, 1962) (Sheer craziness of the rare genius Kishore Kumar and a refreshingly different and fantastic music are reasons to include this otherwise an ordinary movie in this list)
